So your Teamspeak 3 server is ready and you don't know what to do? Allow us to help you :)

Even if you're not new to Teamspeak 3 administration we recommend you read this article.

1st ADVICE- TAKE OVER YOUR SERVER ADMIN PERMISSIONS AS SOON AS YOU GET YOUR SERVER INFO

Once your Teamspeak 3 server is installed and ready to use, you'll receive an email informing you about the installation proces and it will guide you through the steps necessary to aquire your Server Admin permissions.
If you wish to read the guide here, just follow this link -> Connecting to your Teamspeak server for the first time

Full server control is the first and main step to running your Teamspeak server successfully.

2nd ADVICE - DO NOT SHARE SERVER ADMIN PERMISSIONS WITH THE OTHERS, EVEN IF IT'S YOUR BROTHER, GRANNPA, UNCLE, GIRLFRIEND, FRIEND OR MIGHTY CHUCK NORRIS WE'RE TALKING ABOUT :-)

YOU own the server and Server Admin permissions are for your eyes only!

If you need to grant high level permissions to your friends and colleagues, please provide them with the ADMIN server group permissions. It's basically the same as the Server Admin group with some small limitations to keep your server safe from disaster.

The ADMIN server group will provide your friends with all the permissions they need and you'll get to keep the control over the whole server.

3rd ADVICE - IF YOU'RE NOT SURE WHAT SOME OPTION DOES OR  YOU NEED HELP IN GENERAL, DON'T HESITATE TO CONTACT THE m_BIT TECHNICAL SUPPORT

If you bump into a problem, contact M-BIT tech support. Don't bother restarting your Teamspeak server like a madman and searchinf for help online from who knows what sources!

M-BIT tech support is here to fix your Teamspeak service problems and to help you in any way we can.

Whataver the problem is, however silly the question is, DO NOT grant Server Admin permissions to someone to fix the problem for you and don't use any solutions found online if you're not sure it will work.

If you're having trouble connecting to your server, first check the M-BIT info (announcements) page and the Network status page to see if there is something going on.

4th ADVICE- CREATE SERVER BACKUPS EVERY NOW AND THEN

Teamspeak control panel, located under the Teamspeak service details in your M-BIT client area, allows you to create a backup of your Teamspeak server settings. This option is quite important and useful as it allows you to fix the mess quick and easy in case you mess something up. You can create as many backups as you want and you can restore those saved settings with one click of the button.

Backup will save the following data:

  • All server groups and channel groups, along with their permissions
  • All server channels, along with their permissions
  • Channel descriptions, passwords etc.
  • All of users, including their personall permissions, if any
  • Server settings (title, banner etc.)
